Prep and enrolments
Prep at Tannum Sands State School gives our students the very best start to school by helping them make a smooth transition to Year 1 and sets them on the path to lifelong learning.
Prep is 5 days a week and children stay all day. Children must be 5 by 30 June in the year they start prep.
View the Department's online calculator to determine when your child can commence their preparatory year.
We look forward to the opportunity of forming a partnership with you and your child.
Preparing for Prep
Preparing for Prep
Each year in Term 3, our future Prep families are invited to a Prep Open Morning where they can come along, view the school and services we offer, and meet our friendly staff.
In Term 4, Classroom Visits are conducted to provide further information about our Prep programs and to familiarise families with our Prep learning spaces.
For students with a diagnosed or suspected disability, an additional program of transition events is offered to help make the transition to school as successful as possible.
To complete the enrolment and transition process 1-1 parent teacher interviews are conducted to gather further information about your child and to ensure that they have the best possible start to their schooling journey.
Please feel free to read through some of the resources linked in the side panel about the transition from Kindy to Prep.
