Tannum Sands Primary School is committed to creating a positive Learning Environment through their Student Wide Positive Behaviour Scheme (SWPBS). Students have many opportunities to be acknowledged for their positive behaviour and their commitment to the Tannum Wave of school expectations.

Rewards include:

  • Tokens
  • Blue cards
  • Class rewards

A SWPBS team consisting of teachers, teacher aides, the guidance officer and an administrator, meet every 3 weeks to discuss items related to school behaviour data and improvements to be made.

Students can be rewarded through a token system when displaying desirable behaviours. Tokens can then be used to participate in lunchtime activities such as beading, disco, card making, foam hockey and face painting.

Additionally, students can be acknowledged through a blue card system. Students are rewarded with a blue card that is presented to an administrator. The administrator then places the blue card into a weekly draw. The draw is conducted each week on parade and the winner choses a prize from a selection of gifts.
